MADRID, April 30, 2021
After a year hiatus due to the coronavirus crisis, the VIII Torneo Internacional de Majadahonda will return to the calendar of the ITF Pro Circuit in 2021. The ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event will be held on clay from May 3 to 9 at the venue of the Club Internacional de Tenis in Majadahonda, Madrid, Spain.
The official acceptance list is led by World No. 332 Nuno Borges of Portugal. Earlier this season, the 24-year-old clinched his 10th career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour at the Artengo Open Series 4 in Antalya, Turkey.
Frenchmen Corentin Denolly and Maxime Hamou as well as Spaniards Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo, Oriol Roca Batalla, Pablo Vivero Gonzalez and Eduard Esteve Lobato round out the Top 400 players set to compete in the singles draw.
Carlos Martín, sports director of the International Club of Majadahonda and director of the tournament, explained that “the International Club has been making a great effort for eight editions to organize an ITF tournament of this category. The objective is to bring the best international tennis to the Community of Madrid.”

The list of players who competed in the event in the past include names like World No. 133 Bernabe Zapata Miralles, champion in 2016, Ricardo Ortega, one of the competitors on the ITF Pro Circuit in recent years and Javier Marti, current coach of Paula Badosa and who won one of his last titles at the Club Internacional de Tenis in Majadahonda before a long-term injury took him off the courts and forced him to retire.
