HALLE/WESTPHALIA, May 6, 2021
Alexander Zverev will compete in the 28th edition of the NOVENTI OPEN to be held at the OWL Arena from 12 to 20 June 2021 in Halle, Germany. This was announced by the organizers of the ATP 500 grass-court event on Thursday.
“I would like to finally win the trophy in Halle,” says the 24-year-old, who will play for the sixth time in Westphalia. The German number one won the Abierto Mexicano in Acapulco, Mexico in March and moved up to sixth place in the world rankings, currently two positions ahead of Swiss Maestro Roger Federer.
“I’ve always felt very comfortable in Halle. The tournament is well organized, the short distances are ideal for the players,” says Zverev.
“We are happy that Sascha will be coming to Halle in 2021, to one of his favorite places on the tour,” explains tournament director Ralf Weber. “The field of participants at this year’s tournament is incredibly strong. It will be an exciting, gripping battle for victory.”
Zverev will join World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev of Russia, defending champion Roger Federer, World No. 23 Karen Khachanov from Russia and World No. 43 Kei Nishikori of Japan, who were the first four players confirmed for the tournament.
