The ATP Tour has returned to Serbia for the Belgrade Open, a second ATP 250 clay-court event hosted by the Novak Tennis Center, starting on Sunday, May 23. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is scheduled to play in his hometown, despite the tournament ending just one day before main draw action kicks off at Roland-Garros.

As the top seed, Djokovic received a bye in the first round of the 28-man-draw and will face the winner of the encounter between Egor Gerasimov and a qualifier.

Fifth seed Dusan Lajovic of Serbia will play Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis in the first round and sixth seed Filip Krajinovic will take on fellow Serbian Hamad Medjedovic, who attended the draw ceremony on Friday evening in Belgrade.

Local favourite Miomir Kecmanovic will play against Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay and Laslo Djere will face a qualifier. Serbian wild card Pedja Krstin will oppose South Korea’s Soonwoo Kwon. Seventeen-year-old local wild card entry Marko Topo will be playing against Pablo Andujar from Spain.

Frenchman Gael Monfils also received a first-round bye as the second seed, as did third seed Nikoloz Basilashvili from Georgia and French fourth seed Adrian Mannarino.
