Top seed Pablo Cuevas claimed the title of the €88,520 Open Sopra Styria de Lyon hosted by the Tennis Club de Lyon in France. The World No. 92 from Uruguay beat Elias Ymer from Sweden 6-2, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Cuevas only dropped one set en-route to the championship match. He edged past Argentine qualifier Pedro Cachin, French wild card entry Kyrian Jacquet, Andrea Pellegrino from Italy and No. 3 seed Facundo Bagnis of Argentina.
Cuevas didn’t face break point in the final and converted four of his own 11 break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 18 minutes.

By lifting his 15th ATP Challenger career trophy, his first since Aix-en-Provence in May last season, Cuevas took away from France’s third-largest city €12,200 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
Cuevas Brothers triumph in doubles
On Saturday, Pablo Cuevas clinched the doubles title alongside his brother Martin. The siblings defeated the all-French combination of Tristan Lamasine and Albano Olivetti 6-3, 7-6(2). The final lasted one hour and 18 minutes.
