Jesper de Jong lifted his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour by winning the $52,080 Beeline Business held on clay at the Tennis Center CSKA in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The 21-year-old Dutch qualifier eased past Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera from Chile in Saturday’s singles final 6-1, 6-2.
De Jong battled through the bottom half of the main draw without dropping a set, defeating Kimmer Coppejans from Belgium, Russian veteran Teymuraz Gabashvili, Riccardo Boandio from Italy and Mirza Basic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The World No. 319 from Haarlem won 73 per cent of his first-service points and 87 per cent of his second-serve points in the championship match to prevail after exactly one hour of play.

Following three title wins on the ITF World Tennis Tour, de Jong celebrated his first success at Challenger level and collected $52,080 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Ukrainian tandem prevails in doubles
Earlier in the day, Vladyslav Manafov and Vitaliy Sachko from the Ukraine claimed the doubles title. The unseeded duo defeated the tournament’s No. 3 seeds Corentin Denolly of France and Spaniard Adrian Menendez-Maceiras 6-1, 6-4. The match lasted 62 minutes.
Manafov and Sachko split $3,100 in prize money and collected 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
