Mats Moraing is the champion of the €44,820 Internazionali di Tennis Città di Forli, held at the Circolo Tennis Villa Carpena Via Brando in Forli, Italy. The 28-year-old German rallied past No. 8 seed Quentin Halys from France 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 in Saturday’s singles final.
Moraing fired eight aces and won 87 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in one hour and 41 minutes.

“It was a great battle, Halys deserved to win. He played a splendid tournament, I wish him the best for the rest of the season,” Moraing said. “For me it was an unforgettable week, it was very nice to hear the applause of the spectators in the stands again.”
The World No. 246 clinched his third ATP Challenger crown following his triumphs on home soil in Koblenz 2018 and Amersfoort, Netherlands 2019. Moraing pocketed in the Emilia-Romagna Region €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Galdos/Luz take doubles title
In other action, Sergio Galdos from Peru and Orlando Luz of Brazil captured the doubles title. The top seeds fought past the all-Argentine combination of Pedro Cachin and Camilo Ugo Carabelli 7-5, 2-6, 10-8. The encounter lasted one hour and 32 minutes.

The next MEF Tennis Events tournaments will be the ATP Challenger in Perugia and Todi scheduled for the beginning of July: “We are ready. There are only a few details to fix, we will work on them over the next few days and make sure to have two unforgettable tournaments. Both tournaments are two important events in the national and international tennis scene with a lot of tradition. We will give our best,” organizer and MEF Tennis Events President Marcello Marchesini said.
