Tomas Etcheverry is the champion of the 2021 Internazionali Di Tennis Città Di Perugia. The No. 7 seed from Argentina defeated Vitaliy Sachko from the Ukraine 7-5, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final held at the Tennis Club Perugia, one of the oldest venues on the ATP Challenger Tour.
Etcheverry battled his way through the top of the draw with wins over Italian Andrea Arnaboldi, Swiss young gun Dominic Stricker, qualifier Nerman Fatic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and home favourite Salvatore Caruso to reach the title match of the €44,820 clay-court tournament in Italy.
The World No. 192 from La Plata, a winner of five titles on the ITF Pro Circuit, sent down six aces and won 83 per cent of his first-service points to secure victory in one hour and 55 minutes.

By lifting his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour, Etcheverry took away from the capital city of Umbria in central Italy €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Sachko/Stricker triumph in doubles
On Saturday, Vitaliy Sachko and Dominic Stricker captured the doubles title. The duo battled past Etcheverry and his fellow Argentine Renzo Olivo 6-3, 5-7, 10-8. The encounter lasted one hour and 35 minutes.
Sachko and Stricker clinched their first team title and split €2,670 in prize money and earned 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
