STARNBERG, August 2, 2021
Rafael Nadal returns to action for the first time since Roland Garros this week at the Citi Open, where he is the top seed on his tournament debut.
The Spanish superstar, who has already won two titles this season on home soil in Barcelona as well as at the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome, will try to add to his tally in Washington, D.C. But the lefty will have to battle through a tough field at this ATP 500 hard-court event.
There are many #NextGenATP stars set to compete, including Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner of Italy, Sebastian Korda and Brandon Nakashima from the United States. Other players to watch include defending champion Nick Kyrgios of Australia, 2015 titlist Kei Nishikori from Japan and former World No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria.
