The 58th edition of the Copa Sevilla will see an all-Spanish final, as Pedro Martinez and Roberto Carballes Baena will meet in the championship match of the €66,640 ATP Challenger Tour clay-court tournament being held at the Real Club de Tenis Betis.

In a semi-final match between two players from Valencia, No. 2 seed Martinez defeated No. 4 seed Carlos Taberner 6-4, 6-3 on Friday afternoon. The World No. 75, who reached his first final on the ATP Tour at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel last month, converted four of his six break-point chances to advance after one hour and 33 minutes.

Later in the evening and under the lights on Pista Central, fifth favourite Carballes Baena eased past Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera of Chile 6-1, 6-3. The 28-year-old Tenerife native saved the only break point he faced and capitalized on four of his own 10 break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 15 minutes. #

Martinez is bidding for his third ATP Challenger career crown, his first title win since the Andalucia Open in Marbella last year. Carballes Baena could lift his ninth Challenger trophy, his second of the season following his triumph in Belgrade, Serbia in April. The World No. 95 won all previous four matches with Martinez.

Vega Hernandez/Vervoort win doubles title

In other action, David Vega Hernandez of Spain and Mark Vervoort from the Netherlands captured the doubles title. The No. 2 seeds fought past the all-Spanish combination of Javier Barranco Cosano and Sergio Martos Gornes 6-3, 6-7(7), 10-7. The final lasted two hours and one minute.

By clinching their firs team title, Vega Hernandez and Vervoort split €3,950 in prize money and collected 90 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
