Will 2021 be the year that Team World takes down Team Europe in the Laver Cup?

Team Europe has six of the Top 10 players in the ATP Rankings, led by three former Nitto ATP Finals champions: recent US Open winner Daniil Medvedev of Russia, World No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece and Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Alexander Zverev of Germany. Russian Andrey Rublev, Italian Matteo Berrettini and Norwegian Casper Ruud join Medvedev in making their Laver Cup debuts.

Team World is hungry to triumph in Boston, with Laver Cup veterans John Isner of the United States, Australian Nick Kyrgios, Argentine Diego Schwartzman and Canadian Denis Shapovalov leading the charge alongside his compatriot and World No. 11 Felix Auger-Aliassime and US-American Reilly Opelka.

Players from both teams spent some time away from the tennis court taking in the sights of Boston ahead of the start of the competition.

Tsitsipas and alternate Feliciano Lopez of Team Europe visited Harvard Business School to see what a day in the life of a Harvard student would be like.

Team World’s Isner visited the ‘Make Way for Ducklings’ statues, the famous bronze ducks in Boston Common. The statues installed in 1987 were inspired by Robert McCloskey’s well-known children’s picture book.

Isner also posed for a photo at the famous Cheers restaurant on Beacon Street.

The Laver Cup is a three-day tournament pitting a team of six of the best tennis players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the world.

Team Europe hoisted the trophy at the inaugural event in Prague in 2017, Chicago in 2018 and Geneva in 2019.
