Henri Laaksonen claimed his first title in two years by lifting the trophy of the 16th Open d’Orléans in north-central France. The World No. 118 from Switzerland beat Austrian Dennis Novak 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
In front of more than 3,000 spectators inside the Palais des Sports, Laaksonen fired eight aces and won 81 per cent of his first service-points to secure victory in one hour and 22 minutes.

The 29-year-old Glattpark resident battled through the bottom half of the draw edging out Zizou Bergs from Belgium, No. 2 seeded Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, Danish young gun Holger Rune and fifth seed Jiri Vesely from the Czech Republic en route to the championship match.
Laaksonen earned his sixth ATP Challenger career title, his first since the Rome Garden Open in Italy in May 2019. He collected €18,290 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points. Novak pocketed €10,770 and 100 ATP Ranking points.
Herbert/Olivetti take doubles title
Earlier in the day, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Albano Olivetti delighted their home crowd by winning the doubles title. The top seeds emerged victorious from an-all French final with wild card entries Antoine Hoang and Kyrian Jacquet, winning 6-2, 2-6, 11-9. The encounter lasted one hour and 15 minutes.
Herbert and Olivetti won their fifth team title on the ATP Challenger Tour. The pair split €7,870 in prize money and collected 125 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
