Juan Pablo Varillas captured the title of the $52,080 Dove Men & Care Legión Sudamericana Challenger Santiago 2 ATP Challenger clay-court event in Chile. The No. 3 seed from Peru defeated No. 5 seed Sebastian Baez of Argentina 6-4, 7-5 in Sunday’s singles final at the Club Deportivo Palestino.
Varillas converted five of his nine break-point chances and won 54 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in one hour and 43 minutes.

The 26-year-old Lima native lifted his fourth ATP Challenger career trophy, his second of the season following his triumph at the Thindown Challenger in Biella, Italy in early May.
Varillas earned $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
