The 20-year-old became the youngest player in ATP Challenger history to claim five trophies in one season. Baez previously won three tournaments in Chile: in Concepcion and twice in Santiago, as well as in Zagreb, Croatia.
“The support and warmth of the crowd and my family was incredible this week,” said World No. 124 Baez, who pocketed in Buenos Aires $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points, and is getting closer to the Top 100. “This is the biggest title of my career, for the level I had all week. I gave everything I had on the court. My goal remains the same: to continue improving in every tournament. The results will follow. With my team, we will move towards that objective. I would not be where I am today without them.”
