Maxime Cressy and Daniel Masur will compete in the singles final of the €44,820 Eckental Challenger. No. 5 seed Cressy edged past sixth-seeded Czech Tomas Machac 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(5) on Saturday at the House of Sports.
The World No. 133 from the United States struck 15 aces and won 77 per cent of his first-service points to advance after two hours and nine minutes.
Later on Saturday, Masur defeated Marc-Andrea Huesler of Switzerland to reach his first Challenger final since winning the title in Biella, Italy in March. The 27-year-old German saved the only break point he faced and converted three of his own 13 break-point opportunities to prevail after one hour and nine minutes.
Masur is bidding for his second ATP Challenger crown. World No. 133 Cressy could lift his third career trophy, his first since Drummondville, Canada 2020.
Cressy won the only previous meeting between the two in the quarterfinals of the Wolffkran Open in Ismaning two years ago.
Jebavy/O’Mara take doubles title
In other action, Roman Jebavy from the Czech Republic and Jonny O’Mara of Great Britain took the doubles title. The top seeds defeated Belgian veteran Ruben Bemelmans and Daniel Masur 6-4, 7-5. The encounter lasted one hour and 21 minutes.
Jebavy and O’Mara earned their first team title. They split €2,670 in prize money and earned 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
