“I am very pleased with my performance in the final today. I didn’t lose my serve against a strong opponent, who is in good shape. It was the best match in the week,” said Masur, who became the first home favourite to succeed on the carpet in Eckental since Maximilian Marterer in 2017.
“I was a bit nervous during the last two service games. He also started to return better and I missed a few points. Then, I started to feel a bit of pressure coming up, as you want to the close the match out. But I managed it very well and I am very happy.”
Following his maiden triumph in Biella, Italy in March, Masur lifted his second ATP Challenger career trophy. The 26-year-old Munich resident collected €6,190 in prize money and earned 80 ATP Ranking points.
