World No. 70 Federico Coria and 89th-ranked Jaume Munar, the top two seeds of the Uruguay Open, lead the semi-finals line-up at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club in Montevideo.

Coria emerged victorious from the all-Argentine encounter with alternate Santiago Rodriguez Taverna, winning 6-3, 6-4. The No. 1 seed from Buenos Aires, a two-time champion on the ATP Challenger Tour, converted three of his nine break-point opportunities to advance after one hour and 26 minutes.

Coria will next oppose Hugo Dellien. The seventh-seeded Bolivian benefited from the retirement of No. 3 seed Facundo Bagnis of Argentina. Dellien was leading 7-6(4), 4-1 when Bagnis was forced to stop playing due to a left thigh injury.

In the bottom half of the draw, Munar reached the stage of the final four without dropping a set. The second favourite from Spain defeated Camilo Ugo Carabelli of Argentina 6-4, 6-1. Munar won 57 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 42 minutes.

Up next for the 24-year-old from Mallorca will be Argentine Juan Ignacio Londero, who knocked out No. 4 seed Thiago Monteiro of Brazil 6-3, 7-6(1). The encounter lasted one hour and 46 minutes.

In the doubles final, the all-Brazilian duo of Rafael Matos and Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves will take on Ignacio Carou from Uruguay and Italian Luciano Darderi.
