Following her triumph at the same place last week, US-American Elizabeth Mandlik clinched another title in Brazil by lifting the trophy of the Circuito Dove Men & Care La Legión ITF World Tennis Tour W25 hard-court tournament in Florianopolis.

The 20-year-old daughter of four-time Grand Slam singles champion Hana Mandlikova upset World No. 186 and tournament’s top favourite Elina Avanesyan of Russia 7-5, 6-3 in Sunday’s semi-finals in one hour and 57 minutes. Later in the day, Mandlik defeated Eva Vedder from the Netherlands in the championship match by the score of 6-3, 6-4.

By winning her sixth title on the ITF Pro Circuit, Mandlik has reached a new career-high ranking of World No. 368.

“I’m very happy. It’s really the best moment of my career. I came here with no expectations and managed to win two consecutive titles, so Brazil is a very special place for me, it’s incredible,” Mandlik said.
