M25 Glasgow GBR – Alastair Gray wins back-to-back titles on home soil

The Glasgow $25K Pro Series, hosted by Scotstoun Tennis Centre, concluded with a second-consecutive triumph of Alastair Gray.

The 23-year-old emerged victorious from the all-British semifinal-encounter against Harry Wendelken in two sets.

Henri Squire from Germany, the former college player for the Wake Forest University, knocked off British top seed Aidan McHugh in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Unseeded Gray fired 27 aces in the thrilling championship match and won 80 per cent of his first-service points to prevail 6-3, 6-7, 7-6. The Twickenham native lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M25 Antalya TUR – Riccardo Bonadio secures 10th career title 

Riccardo Bonadio was victorious at the Antalya Series, held at Club Megasaray in Belek.

The 28-year-old Italian edged out Croatian No. 2 seed Duje Ajdukovic in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Martin Cuevas from Uruguay, the younger brother of Pablo Cuevas, rallied past Polish No. 8 seed Daniel Michalski in the semi-finals in three sets.

San Vito al Tagliamento-born Bonadio gained two points more in the title match and capitalized on three of his five break-point chances to seal a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory in two hours and 26 minutes. The No. 3 seed celebrated his 10th career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, nine of them achieved on clay.

M25 Canberra AUS – Dane Sweeny captures back-to-back titles on home soil

Following his maiden title win at the same place last week, Dane Sweeny won the trophy at the Canberra Pro Tour#2, hosted by Canberra Tennis Centre.

In the all-Australian semi-finals, the No. 3 seed fought past veteran Rubin Statham in three sets.

Teenager James McCabe made the last step to the final by defeating Aaron Addison in straight sets.

Lasting more than three hours, twenty-one-year-old Sweeny withstood 15 aces from his 18-year-old rival and won one point more in the championship match to triumph 5-7, 7-6, 6-3. The Penrith native lifted his second career trophy on the Pro Circuit.

M25 Cancun MEX – Keegan Smith dominates in Yucatan 

Keegan Smith from the United States clinched the trophy of the World Tennis Tour Cancun 2022, held at Cancun Tennis Complex, without losing a set the entire week. 

The former college player of the University of California cruised past Jaimee Floyd Angele from France in the semi-finals.

German qualifier Luca Gerch, who played college tennis for the Oklahoma State University, booked the spot in the final with a straight-set win versus US-American No. 5 seed Nick Chappell.

Twenty-three-year-old Smith sent down nine aces in the title match and won 90 per cent of his first-service points to claim a 6-4, 6-1 victory in 81 minutes. Following his maiden triumph on home-soil last season, the Wilmington native celebrated his second career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Naples USA – Jonathan Mridha triumphs in Florida

The Naples Men’s $15.000 Emilio Sanchez Academy Florida by BMW concluded with the title win of Jonathan Mridha from Sweden. 

The 26-year-old made it to the final with a straight-set win against French No. 3 seed Corentin Denolly. 

Evan Zhu from the United Stated, who played college tennis for UCLA, finished the run of South African qualifier Khololwam Montsi in the semi-finals in two sets. 

No. 5 seed Mridha broke his 23-year-old rival in the championship match four times and dropped two service games to succeed 6-2, 7-6 in more than two hours. The Stockholm native lifted his fourth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on clay.

M15 Sharm El Sheikh EGY – Duckhee Lee prevails in Egypt

Former juniors World No. 3 Duckhee Lee took the title of the M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament, hosted by Soho Square.

The 23-year-old from South Korea, who was born deaf, eased past Hungarian No. 3 seed Mate Valkusz, the former No. 1 in the ITF Juniors ranking, in the semi-finals in two sets.

Israeli No. 4 seed Ben Patael advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus No. 6 seeded Hungarian Peter Fajta.

Jecheon-born Lee won two points less in the title match but secured a 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 win after two hours and 15 minutes. The No. 2 seed celebrated his 13th singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M15 Punta Cana DOM – Edoardo Lavagno wins another title on clay

Twenty-three-year-old Edoardo Lavagno captured the trophy of the M15 Punta Cana tournament held at Vilas Tennis Academy Punta Cana.

The Italian lefty knocked off the tournament’s second favourite Francisco Comesana from Argentina, who clinched the title in Punta Cana last week, in the semi-finals in two sets. 

Qualifier Matyas Fuele from Hungary continued his great run, beating French wild card entry Sean Cuenin in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

No. 4 seeded Lavagno gained two breaks more in the championship match to succeed 6-4, 6-3 after one hour and 39 minutes. The Turin native lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on clay court.

M15 Monastir TUN – Alberto Barroso Campos captures maiden title

Alberto Barroso Campos emerged victorious at the Magic Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 25-year-old Spaniard cruised past Dutch No. 5 seed Guy den Ouden, who clinched the trophy in Monastir last week, in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Czech No. 6 seed Andrew Paulson took the last step to the final by defeating Sebastian Gima from Belgium in three sets. 

Unseeded Barroso Campos converted five of his seven break-point chances in the title match without facing a break point to seal a 6-2, 6-0 victory in about one hour. The Montijo native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.
