ITF Press Release, April 17, 2022
The ITF has announced the results from the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Qualifiers, which took place in seven cities around the world on 15-16 April. Canada, Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland and Spain enjoyed comfortable victories, with their ties decided after just three matches. But Czech Republic and USA were pushed all the way by Great Britain and Ukraine, respectively, with the pair winning in decisive doubles matches.
Those seven winning teams will advance to the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Finals, which will be played on 8-13 November 2022. They join the four nations that have already secured a place at the Finals: 2021 runners-up Switzerland, Australia, Belgium and Slovakia. The host venue and the full lineup for the Finals will be announced in due course.
The seven losing nations from the Qualifiers (France, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Netherlands, Romania and Ukraine) will compete in the Play-offs on 11-12 November, alongside the nations that have won promotion from this week’s three regional Group I events.
