M25 Mataro ESP – Pol Martin Tiffon triumphs on home soil 

The I Torneig Internacional de Tennis Ciutat de Mataro, hosted by Club Tennis Mataro, concluded with the title win of Pol Martin Tiffon. 

The 22-year-old cruised past his No. 4 seeded fellow Spanish Oriol Roca Batalla in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Wild card entry Pablo Llamas Ruiz set the all-Spanish final with a three-set win versus Italian top seed Raul Brancaccio.

Barcelona-born Martin Tiffon earned one break and nine points more in the title match to secure a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory in one hour and 48 minutes. The No. 8 seed celebrated his third singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on clay.

M25 Jablonec Nad Nisou CZE – Khumoyun Sultanov prevails in Northern Bohemia 

Khumoyun Sultanov is the champion of the Jablonec Nad Nisou Open 2022, held at CLTK Bizuterie Jablonec Nad Nisou.

The 23-year-old from Uzbekhistan cruised past top seeded Frenchman Calvin Hemery in the stage of the last four in two sets.

Martin Damm from the United States, the son of former tennis professional Martin Damm sr., battled through the bottom half of the draw, beating Swiss No. 6 seed Damien Wenger in the semi-finals in straight sets.

In a thrilling championship match with both players gaining 110 points, No. 3 seed Sultanov withstood 15 aces from his 18-year-old rival to succeed 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 after about three hours. The Namangan native lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second on Czech soil.

M25 Netanya ISR – Daniel Cukierman captures back-to-back titles on home soil 

Following his maiden title win in Akko last week, Daniel Cukierman earned the trophy of the M25 Netanya tournament, which was hosted by Tennis Club Maccabi.

The 26-year-old battled past his No. 7 seeded fellow Israeli Edan Leshem in the semi-finals in two sets.

US-American No. 5 seed Kyle Seelig knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Kaichi Uchida from Japan in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

No. 6 seeded Cukierman capitalized on all of his five break-point chances in the title match and dropped one service-game to seal a 6-1, 6-2 victory in about one hour. The Tel Aviv native celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M25 Monastir TUN – Akira Santillan returns to winners’ circle 

Akira Santillan from Australia was victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, held at Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The former World No. 144 made the last step to the final by defeating Hanwen Li from China in straight sets. 

Zhe Li from China edged out US-American No. 5 seed Omni Kumar in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Tokyo-born Santillan, who was ranked World No. 7 as a junior, sent down eight aces in the championship match and won 84 per cent of his first-service points to prevail 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 after two hours and 25 minutes. The No. 7 seed lifted his eighth career trophy on the Pro Circuit including his ATP Challenger title in Winnetka, his first since 2017.

M15 Quito ECU – Murkel Dellien wins debut title 

No. 2 seed Murkel Dellien from Bolivia claimed the trophy of the M15 Copa Quito Bicentenario – Etapa 1, hosted by Club Rancho San Francisco, without losing a set the entire week.

The younger brother of fellow tennis professional Hugo Dellien rallied past Brazilian No. 8 seed Eduardo Ribeiro in the stage of the last four in three sets.

No. 2 seed Arklon Huertas del Pino from Peru battled through the top half of the draw, beating Argentinian No. 6 seed Juan Bautista Otegui in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Twenty-four-year-old Dellien withstood the eight aces of his opponent in the title match and won five points more to secure victory with 7-6, 6-3 after one hour and 48 minutes. The Trinidad-born, who played college tennis for the Wichita State University, celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Bucharest ROU – Calin Manda lifts maiden trophy on home soil 

Local hero Calin Manda took the title of the Ioana Cup, hosted by the venue of Tennis Club Herastrau, without losing a set during the tournament. 

The 24-year-old Romanian edged out his No. 2 seeded countryman Nicholas David Ionel in the stage of the last four in two sets.

No. 3 seeded Cezar Cretu booked the spot in the all-Romanian final with a straight-set win versus Italian No. 5 seed Stefano Napolitano. 

Unseeded Manda won 78 per cent of his first-service points and earned the only two breaks in the championship match to advance 6-3, 6-4 lasting 82 minutes. The Pitesti native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Brcko BIH – Gauthier Onclin captures second title of the season

Following his title win in Meerbusch three weks ago, twenty-one-year-old Gauthier Onclin from Belgium earned the title of the Brcko Open 2022, held at Tennis Club Prohema.

The former junior’s World No. 8 eased past Italian top seed Alexander Weis in the semi-finals in two sets.

No. 5 seed Raphael Collignon set the all-Belgian final with a straight-set victory against last week’s Prijedor-champion Rimpei Kawakami from Japan. 

Liege-born Onclin gained two breaks and 18 points more in the title match to seal a 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 victory in two hours and 10 minutes. The No. 4 seed lifted his fifth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second this season.

M15 Ulcinj MNE – Marcello Serafini takes maiden title

Marcello Serafini clinched the trophy of the Azul Beach Resort Montenegro Tour, hosted by Tennis Club Bellevue.

The 19-year-old emerged victorious from the all-Italian semifinal-encounter against lucky loser Stefano Reitano in two sets.

Petros Chrysochos from Cyprus, who played college tennis for the Wake Forrest University, defeated Belgian No. 8 seed Arnaud Bovy in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Unseeded Serafini converted five of his 10 break-point chances in the championship match and dropped one service game to succeed 6-1, 6-3 in about one hour. The Rimini native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Oran ALG – Robin Bertrand claims maiden trophy

The Tournoi International M15 Oran, hosted by Tennis Club Habib Khalil, concluded with the title win of Robin Bertrand.

The 19-year-old Frenchman defeated Tunisian No. 2 seed Aziz Dougaz in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Algerian No. 4 seed Rayan Ghedjemis knocked out the tournament’s top favourite Benjamin Lock from Zimbabwe in the stage of the final four in three sets.

Lasting more than two hours, No. 3 seed Bertrand outpointed his 21-year-old rival in the title match 101-88 to claim a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 comeback win. The Nimes native lifted his first singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Cancun MEX – Brandon Holt clinches fifth trophy of the season 

Top seeded Brandon Holt took the title of the World Tennis Tour Cancun 2022, held at Cancun Tennis Complex.

The former college player for the University of Southern California won the all-US-American semifinal-clash against left-handed teenager Alexander Bernard, who was ranked junior’s World No. 9 last season, in two sets.

Alex Knaff from Luxembourg edged out Bolivian No. 5 seed Federico Zeballos in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Twenty-four-year-old Holt broke his rival of the same age in the championship match five times to triumph 6-1, 6-2 in 81 minutes. The Rolling Hill native lifted his seventh career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his fifth in 2022.

M15 Monastir TUN – Gage Brymer wins another title on hard court

Gage Brymer emerged victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 27-year-old US-American advanced to the final with a straight-set win against Alexander Crnokrak from Australia. 

Teenager Khololwam Montsi from South Africa upset French top seed Quentin Folliot in the semi-finals in two sets.

No. 2 seeded Brymer capitalized on five of his eight break-point chances and won 76 per cent of his first-service points in the title match to seal a 6-4, 6-0 win in one hour and 31 minutes. The Irvine native, who played college tennis for UCLA, celebrated his third singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on hard court. 

M15 Heraklion GRE – Shuichi Sekiguchi returns to winners’ circle

Shuichi Sekiguchi was crowned champion at the M15 Heraklion tournament, held at Lyttos Beach Tennis Academy in Crete.

The tournament’s top favourite from Japan booked the spot in the final with a straight-set win versus British No. 5 seed Mark Whitehouse. 

Simon Anthony Ivanov from Bulgaria eased past Swiss No. 3 seed Jerome Kym, who was ranked World No. 5 as a junior, in the semi-finals in two sets.

Thirty-year-old Sekiguchi earned the only four breaks in the championship match to prevail 6-3, 6-1 in 78 minutes. The San Francisco native lifted his 10th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his first since 2019.

M15 Antalya TUR – Gianmarco Ferrari captures maiden title 

Left-handed Gianmarco Ferrari clinched the trophy of the Antalya Series, hosted by the Club Megasaray in Belek.

The 21-year-old Italian took the last step to the final by defeating Uruguayan No. 2 seed Ignacio Carou in three sets.

Frenchman Thomas Deschamps eased past teenager Maxim Shin from Uzbekhistan in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Prato-born Ferrari gained three breaks and 15 points more in the title match to claim a 6-2, 6-4 victory after one hour and 33 minutes. The No. 4 seed celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.
