Wild card Alexandre Sidorenko completes a stunning run to his first ATP Challenger career title at the €42,500 Open Harmonie Mutuelle in St. Brieuc. The world number 379 from France emerged victoriuos from Sunday’s final, rallying 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 against sixth seed Igor Sijsling.

In front of about 1,700 spectators, Sidorenko hit eigtht aces, winning 69% of his first service points. He converted four of his 20 break point opportunities to celebrate his maiden triumph on the ATP Challenger Tour after two hours and 27 minutes.

It his second title of the season after he had lifted the trophy at the $10,000 ITF Future in Villers Les Nancy last week. In St. Brieuc, he takes away €6,150 in prize money and earns 90 ATP ranking points getting back into the top 300 on Monday.

“I do not know how, but I managed to win the title,” Sidorenko was happy afterwards. “I think I played a good tournament. I am proud of myself.”

Top-seeds Rameez Junaid and Andreas Siljestrom captured the doubles title, winning 5-7, 7-6, 10-8 against James Cerretani and Antal van der Duim in one hour and 52 minutes.
