M25 Wetzlar GER – Rudolf Molleker victorious on home soil

The Wetzlar Open 2022, held at the venue of the TC Wetzlar 1912 e.V., concluded with the title win of local hero Rudolf Molleker.

The 21-year-old German cruised past Bulgarian No. 4 seed Adrian Andreev in the semi-finals in straight sets.

The tournament’s top seed Nick Hardt from the Dominican Republic made it to the final with a three-set win against Belgian No. 7 seed Raphael Collignon.

Unseeded Molleker won 83 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match and gained the only two breaks to prevail 7-6, 6-1 after one hour and 44 minutes. The Berlin native celebrated his third singles title on the Pro Circuit including his ATP Challenger triumph at the Neckarcup 2018 in Heilbronn. 

“There were a lot of good players here in the tournament you have to defeat first,” said Molleker. “This is my current level. I had a lot of fun to play in this beautiful city and with this championship I will remember it more intensive.”

M25 Nottingham GBR – Alastair Gray triumphs on grass

Alastair Gray captured the title of the M25 Nottingham tournament, hosted by Nottingham Tennis Centre.

The tournament’s top favourite, who played college tennis for the Texas Christian University, rallied past fellow Briton Max Basing in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Seventh seed Daniel Cox set the all-British final with a straight-set win against Australian No. 5 seed Tristan Schoolkate. 

In the title match with both players gaining five breaks, twenty-four-year-old Gray won two points less but secured a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory in two hours and 39 minutes. Following four title wins on hard court, the Twickenham native lifted his fifth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third this season. He already showed his great skills on grass, winning his first-round match in the main draw in Wimbledon some weeks ago.

M25 Bolzano ITA – Christian Langmo prevails on clay

Christian Langmo captured the title of the Sparkasse Alperia Trophy, hosted by Tennis Club Bolzano.

The 26-year-old US-American took the last step to the final by defeating Italian No. 7 seed Luca Potenza in straight sets.

No. 6 seed Francesco Forti emerged victorious from the all-Italian semi-final clash against Stefano Napolitano in two sets. 

Boca Raton-born Langmo sent down seven aces in the title match and won 90 per cent of his first-service points to claim a 7-6, 6-3 win after one hour and 44 minutes. The No. 5 seed, who played college tennis for the University of Miami, lifted his fourth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour following three title wins in Cancun on hard court.

M25 Tbilisi GEO – Kacper Zuk continues his series

Kacper Zuk clinched the trophy of the Tbilisi Open, held at Tennis Complex “Alexsandre Metreveli”.

The Polish top seed, who is coached by former tennis professional Jerzy Janowicz, fought past Czech No. 7 seed David Poljak in the stage of the final four in three sets.

Local hero Aleksandre Metreveli advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus Indian No. 2 seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran.

Zuk, 23, broke his Georgian rival in the championship match three times without dropping a service game to succeed 6-2, 6-4 in about two hours. The Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki native celebrated his ninth singles title on the Pro Circuit including his Challenger title in Split last season and winning at least one title per season since 2019.

M25 Decatur USA – Johannus Monday dominates in Illinois 

Johannus Monday was crowned champion at the Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic, hosted by Fairview Park Tennis Complex, without dropping a set during the tournament.

The 21-year-old Briton battled past Japanese No. 4 seeded Makoto Ochi in the stage of the final four.

Top seed Ezekiel Clark, who played college tennis for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, won the all-US-American semi-final clash against No. 8 seeded Tyler Zink in two sets.

No. 6 seeded Monday converted four of his 10 break-point chances in the title match by losing one service game to seal a 6-3, 6-3 victory in 95 minutes. The college player for the University of Tennessee lifted his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second on US soil.

M25 Pitesti ROU – Nicholas David Ionel succeeds on home soil

Home favourite Nicolas David Ionel emerged victorious at the Comesad BCR Open, held at the venue of CS Comesad.

The top seeded Romanian reached the final with a three-set win against Tunisian No. 7 seed Moez Echargui.

Argentine Juan Pablo Paz battled past Ilya Snitari from Moldova in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Bucharest-born Ionel earned one break and seven points more in the championship match to prevail 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 after more than two hours. The 19-year-old celebrated his eighth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third in 2022.

M25 Agadir MAR – Emilien Voisin captures maiden title 

Emilien Voisin won the trophy of the Morocco Tennis Tour, hosted by Royal Tennis Club d’Agadir.

The 22-year-old Frenchman knocked down the tournament’s top favourite Mariano Navone from Argentina in the semi-finals in three sets.

No. 4 seeded Spaniard Alvaro Lopez San Martin booked his spot in the final with a three-set win versus French No. 6 seed Jurgen Briand.

Unseeded Voisin earned two breaks and eight points more in the title match to secure a 6-3, 7-6 victory in one hour and 32 minutes. The Grenoble native lifted his first singles trophy on the Pro Circuit.

M25 Portoviejo ECU – Matias Soto remains solid in Ecuador

Matias Soto clinched the title of the Tamarindo Open, held at the venue of the Portoviejo Tenis Club.

The 23-year-old Chilean eased past Brazilian No. 5 seed Joao Lucas Reis da Silva in the semi-finals in straight sets.

No. 3 seeded Brazilian Jose Pereira fought past Tristan McCormick from the United States in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Unseeded Soto broke his 31-year-old rival in the championship match three times and dropped one service game to triumph 6-3, 7-6 after about two hours. The Copiapo native celebrated his second career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his second on Ecuadorian soil.

M15 Kottingbrunn AUT – Matteo Donati returns to winners’ circle 

Matteo Donati is the champion of the Kottingbrunn Open, held at Tennis Golf Hotel Höllrigl.

The 27-year-old Italian made the last step to the final by defeating Dutch No. 5 seed Max Houkes in three sets.

French No. 2 seed Corentin Denolly edged out Kai Lemstra from Germany, who is based at the Alpha Tennis Academy in Augsburg, in straight sets.

Unseeded Donati capitalized on two of his four break-point opportunities and lost one service game to triumph 7-6, 6-3 in 88 minutes. The Alessandria native lifted his sixth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his first since 2014.

M15 Kfar Saba ISR – Sahar Simon captures maiden title on home soil

Sahar Simon clinched the trophy of the Krar Saba Open 2022, hosted by Tennis Club Green Kfar Saba, to celebrate his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

In the all-Israeli semi-finals, the 21-year-old stopped wildcard entry Alon Elia in straight sets.

Top seed Ben Patael eased past No. 4 seeded Orel Kimhi in the stage of the final four in two sets.

No. 3 seeded Simon withstood the 10 aces of his 25-year-old rival in the title match to seal a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win after two hours and 15 minutes.

M15 Kuching MAS – Yuta Shimizu dominates in Malaysia

Left-handed Yuta Shimizu took the title of the M15 Kuching tournament, held at Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association Tennis Complex, without losing a set the entire week.

The Japanese No. 2 seed finished the run of US-American qualifier Andre Ilagan in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Top seeded Nam Hoang Ly from Vietnam booked the spot in the final with a three-set win against Australian No. 5 seed Moerani Bouzige.

Konan-born Shimizu won 91 per cent of his first-service points in a one-sided championship match and earned the only five breaks to prevail 6-1, 6-2 in 53 minutes. The 23-year-old, who was ranked World No. 5 as a junior, lifted his 10th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Ust-Kemonogorsk KAZ – Bekhan Atlangeriev clinches maiden trophy

The Kazzinc Open Men’s International Tournament, hosted by “Smash” Tennis Center, concluded with the maiden title win of Bekhan Atlangeriev.

The 21-year-old knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Konstantin Kravchuk in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Second seed Savriyan Danilov battled through the bottom half of the draw, beating Kazakh No.3 seed Grigoriy Lomakin in the semi-finals in two sets.

No. 3 seeded Atlangeriev gained two breaks and 11 points more in the title match to claim a 6-3, 6-4 victory in 82 minutes.

M15 Monastir TUN – Mark Lajal wins another title on hard court

Mark Lajal clinched the trophy of the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, held at Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 19-year-old Estonian fought through the top half of the draw, beating Chinese No. 7 seed Rigele Te in the semis in three sets. 

No. 8 seed Constantin Bittoun Kouzmine got victorious from the all-French seminfinal-encounter versus No. 2 seeded Robin Bertrand in straight sets.

No. 4 seeded Lajal Struck nine aces and won 79 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match to seal victory with 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 after two hours and 15 minutes. The teenager celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden triumph in Heraklion earlier this season.

M15 Novi Sad SRB – Tadeas Paroulek earns maiden title 

Tadeas Paroulek was crowned champion at the M15 Meridiana 2, hosted by the venue of Tennis Club Meridiana, to lift his first singles trophy on the Pro Circuit.

The 22-year-old Czech, who entered the tournament by special exempt, cruised past Florent Bax from France in the semi-finals in two sets.

Serbian wildcard entry Kristijan Juhas booked the spot in the final with a straight-set win versus No. 8 seed Rrezart Cungu from Montenegro.

Unseeded Paroulek sent down seven aces in the title match and won 78 per cent of his first-service points to triumph 7-5, 7-6 after two hours and 18 minutes.

M15 Xatvia ESP – Pedro Rodenas wins debut title on home soil

Teenager Pedro Rodenas was victorious at the Orysol tournament held at Club Camp Bixquert.

In the all-Spanish semi-finals, the junior entry benefited from the retirement of No. 5 seed Max Alcala Gurri after winning the first seven games.

No. 4 seed Jorge Martinez Martinez rallied past Alejandro Manzanera Pertusa in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Eighteen-year-old Rodenas broke his rival in the championship match four times and lost two service games to seal a 7-6, 6-2 win in one hour and 44 minutes. The Madrid native celebrated his first title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Frederiksberg DEN – Karl Fridberg remains solid in Northern Europe 

Karl Fridberg won the title of the M15 Frederiksberg tournament, hosted by Kjobenhavns Boldklub Tennis.

The 23-year-old from Sweden moved to the final by defeating Dutch No. 5 seed Mick Veldheer in the semi-finals in two sets.

French No. 7 seed Maxime Chazal stopped the run of Swedish junior entry Leo Borg, the son of tennis legend Björn Borg, in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Lasting three hours and 12 minutes, Orebro-born Fridberg gained three breaks and six points more in the title match to succeed 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. Following two title wins in Finland, the No. 4 seed lifted his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Parnu EST – Fermin Tenti captures maiden trophy

Fermin Tenti captured the title of the Kapitel Estonian Open, held at Parnu Kesklinna Tenniseklubi.

The Argentinian No. 3 seed fought through the bottom half of the draw, beating Eero Vasa from Finland in the semis in three sets.

The tournament’s top seed Maks Kasnikowski from Poland defeated Kristjan Tamm from Estonia in the semi-finals in straight sets.

In the championship match with both players scoring 109 points, twenty-five-year-old Tenti gained one break more to claim a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 victory after more than three hours. The La Plata native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.
