Following his maiden triumph on the Pro Circuit in Recife last week, Eduardo Ribeiro has returned to another final on the ITF World Tennis Tour by reaching the title match of the Ano III – Brasil Tenis Classic M15 clay-court event in Brasilia.

The 24-year-old Brazilian knocked out his compatriot and No. 2 seed Orlando Luz 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the stage of the last four on Saturday. Ribeiro struck six aces and won 80 per cent of his first-service points to advance in one hour and 55 minutes.

“It was a very tough match. I knew Orlando would demand the most from me, but I’m very happy with the way I play. I felt relaxed and hit the ball well. Obviously I’m physically down, but I managed to deal with it and overcame the tiredness,” said Ribeiro.

“Last week was my first final. Now, I am into another. So, I’m very happy and very motivated to give everything tomorrow, too.”

The World No. 656 will face Lorenzo Gagliardo in the championship match at the Clube do Exército de Brasilia. The 1133rd-ranked Argentine upset his fellow countryman and top seed Matias Franco Descotte 6-4, 6-4 later in the day.

“I’m feeling very good here in Brasilia. I have several Brazilian friends who cheered for me today. I haven’t been getting good results recently, but I’m very satisfied with this week’s performance,” said Gagliardo after reaching his first final on the Pro Circuit. The pair will meet for the first time.
