Italian youngster Luca Nardi has clinched the title of the fourth edition of the Rafa Nadal Open by Sotheby’s International Realty. The No. 7 seed of the €45,730 ATP Challenger Tour hard-court tournament fought past fourth favourite Zizou Bergs from Belgium 7-6(2), 3-6, 7-5 in the singles final on Sunday evening.

Under the lights on Pista Central at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Manacor, Mallorca, 175-th ranked Nardi capitalized on two of his nine break-point opportunities and won 52 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in three hours and eight minutes.
By lifting his third ATP Challenger Tour career trophy, the 19-year-old earned €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points. Nardi has become the title leader among teenagers this year following his triumphs on home soil in Forli as well as in Lugano, Switzerland.
