M25 Oviedo ESP – Javier Barranco Cosano remains solid on clay 

Javier Barranco Cosano captured the title of the Riesco Cup, held at Real Club de Tenis de Oviedo. 

In the semi-finals with all top four favourites from Spain in action, the 23-year-old lefty cruised past No. 4 seed Alvaro Lopez San Martin in two sets.

No. 3 seed Carlos Sanchez Jover advanced to the final with a straight-set win against his top seeded countryman Oriol Roca Batalla.

Twenty-three-year-old Barranco Cosano gained two breaks and 12 points more in the title match to triumph 7-5, 7-5 in one hour and 40 minutes. The Almeria native celebrated his 12th singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved on clay.

“A final is always tough and my opponent was playing so good and made it so difficult for me,” Barranco Cosano said. “I didn’t feel good on the court, but I gave everything because I knew that I have a good chance for the title if I will do that.” 

M25 Szabolcsveresmart HUN – Michael Vrbensky captures third trophy of the season

The M25 Szabolcsveresmart tournament, hosted by HNTA Hatarok Nelkül Teniszakademia, concluded with the title win of Michael Vrbensky.

The 22-year-old Czech battled through the bottom half of the draw, beating Hungarian No. 5 seed Gergely Madarasz in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Swedish top favourite Dragos Nicolae Madaras defeated No. 4 seed Andrew Paulson from the Czech Republic in the stage of the last four in three sets.

No. 2 seeded Vrbensky capitalized on four of his 10 break-point opportunities and dropped two service games in the championship match to claim a 6-1, 7-6 victory after one hour and 41 minutes. The Nymburk native lifted his seventh career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third in 2022.

M25 Maribor SLO – Hernan Casanova earns another title on clay 

Hernan Casanova was crowned champion at the Branik Maribor Open, held at Teniski Klub Branik Maribor. 

The top seeded Argentinian edged out August Holmgren from Denmark in the stage of the final four in three sets. 

Bolivian No. 4 seed Murkel Dellien advanced to the final with a three-set win versus Daniele Capecchi from Italy.

Buenos Aires-born Casanova converted six of his 19 break-point chances in the title match and lost three service games to succeed 6-4, 6-3 in 88 minutes. The 28-year-old celebrated his 22nd singles title on the ITF World Tour, all of them won on clay.

M25 Setubal POR – Adria Soriano Barrera clinches maiden trophy

Adria Soriano Barrera was victorious at the Grupo Re/Max Lounge Setubal Open 2022, hosted by Clube de Tenis de Setubal. 

The 23-year-old Spaniard reached the final with a straight-set win versus Alfredo Perez from the United States. 

Swiss No. 7 seed Jerome Kym, the former junior’s World No. 5, knocked off No. 6 seeded Frenchman Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg in the semi-finals in two sets. 

Unseeded Soriano Barrera broke his 19-year-old rival in the championship match three times and dropped two service games to seal a 7-6, 6-3 victory in one hour and 44 minutes. The Barcelona native lifted his first trophy on the Pro Circuit.

M25 Sierre SUI – Remy Bertola triumphs on home soil 

Remy Bertola took the title of the AXA Open Sierre by Rado, held at the venue of TC Sierre.

The Swiss No. 4 seed cruised past Patrick Zahraj from Germany, who played college tennis for UCLA, in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Austrian top seed Maximilian Neuchrist booked his spot in the final with a three-set win against No. 3 seeded Canadian Steven Diez.

Lasting more than three hours, Lugano-born Bertola scored one point less in the title match but secured a 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 win. The 24-year-old celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden title win in Estonia last season.

M25 Sapporo JAP – Rio Noguchi captures third title of the season

Rio Noguchi claimed the trophy of the Uchiyama Cup Week 1, hosted by Sapporo Hiragishi Teikyujo.

In the all-Japanese semi-finals, the 23-year-old beat No. 4 seed Ryoto Tanuma in straight sets. 

No. 7 seeded veteran Shuichi Sekiguchi, who was ranked World No. 5 as a junior, made the last step to the final by defeating fifth seed Yuki Mochizuki in three sets.

Top seeded Noguchi capitalized on six of his 12 break-point opportunities and scored ten points more in the championship match to secure a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 win after about two and a half hours. The Fukuoka native lifted his sixth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third in 2022.

M15 Pescara ITA – Marcello Serafini dominates in Italy

Marcello Serafini succeeded at the Regione Abruzzo Aterno Gas & Power Cup, held at the venuo of Prati 37, without losing a set the entire week.

The 20-year-old ended the run of his fellow Italian Gianluca di Nicola, who started the tournament in the qualifying competition, in the semi-finals.

Julian Ocleppo set the all-Italian final with a three-set victory against Argentinian top seed Juan Bautista Otegui.

Unseeded Serafini won 76 per cent of his first-service points in the title match and earned three breaks more to prevail 6-3, 7-5 in about two hours. The Rimini native celebrated his second singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden championship in Ulcinj earlier in the season. In addition to his title win in the singles competition, he clinched the doubles trophy alongside his countryman Giorgio Ricca.

M15 Allershausen GER – Jakub Mensik gains maiden trophy 

The second edition ot the Allershausen Open, held at the venue of TSV Allershausen situated in the North of Munich, concluded with the title win of teenager Jakub Mensik.

The Czech junior entry, who is currently ranked World No. 4 in the Juniors Ranking, booked his spot in the final with a straight-set win against No. 6 seeded Austrian Sandro Kopp.

German No. 8 seed Peter Heller edged out No. 7 seeded Syrian Hazem Naw, who is based at the MKG Tennis Academy of former Davis Cup-champion Marc-Kevin Goellner, in the semi-finals in three sets.

Unseeded Mensik converted five of his 11 break-point chances and dropped three service-games in the title match to succeed 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 after two hours and 27 minutes. The Prostejov native, who finished runner-up to US-American Bruno Kuzuhara after three hours and 43 minutes at the Australian Open Junior Championships this season, celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Haren NED – Max Houkes takes back-to-back titles on home soil 

Local hero Max Houkes is the champion of the Clean Energy World Tennis Tour Haren 2022, hosted by Tennis- en Squashclub Haren. 

The left-handed No. 5 seed got victorious from the all-Dutch semifinal-battle against Michiel de Krom in three sets. 

Dutch Alec Deckers, the son of former Wimbledon-champion Richard Krajicek, fought past No. 7 seeded German Dominik Boehler in the semis 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 lasting three hours and 40 minutes. 

Emmen-born Houkes benefited in the championship match from the retirement of his No. 8 seeded compatriot at the score of 7-5, 0-3. The 22-year-old lifted his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden title win in Oldenzaal last week.

M15 Daegu KOR – Uisung Park wins maiden title on home soil

Former junior’s World No. 3 Uisung Park emerged victorious at the M15 Daegu tournament, which was held at Universiade Tennis Courts.

The Korean No. 4 seed advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus Palaphoom Kovapitukted from Thailand.

No. 5 seed Cheong-Eui Kim eased past his top seeded fellow Korean Duckhee Lee in the semi-finals in two sets.

Twenty-one-year-old Park sent down seven aces in the title match and broke his 32-year-old opponent for four times to seal a 6-3, 6-4 victory after one hour and 44 minutes. The Seoul native celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Cairo EGY – Leonardo Aboian earns another trophy in Cairo 

Left-handed Leonardo Aboian took the title of the Egypt Men’s Future, hosted by Al-Solaimaneyah Tennis Club.

The 24-year-old Argentinian battled past Spanish top seed Jose Fco Vidal Azorin in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Veteran Mohamed Safwat from Egypt stopped the run of Italian qualifier Giuseppe Tresca in the stage of the final four in straight sets. 

No. 3 seeded Aboian withstood the nine aces of his 31-year-old rival in the championship match and gained two breaks more to prevail 7-6, 6-2 lasting one hour and 49 minutes. The Buenos Aires native lifted his second career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour following his maiden triumph at the same place last season.

M15 Monastir TUN – Eliakim Coulibaly captures back-to-back titles in Monastir 

Following his title win at the same place last week, Eliakim Coulibaly clinched another trophy at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, held at Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 20-year-old from the Cote d’Ivorie knocked off Tunisian top favourite Aziz Dougaz in the semi-finals in two sets.

French No. 3 seed Constantin Bittoun Kouzmine took the last step to the final with a straight-set win against Rishab Agarwal from India.

Left-handed Coulibaly, who is managed by two-time Grand Slam champion Mary Pierce, fired 10 aces in the title match and won 90 per cent of his first-service points to claim a 6-2, 6-4 win after one hour and 40 minutes. The No. 7 seed celebrated his fourth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them achieved in Monastir.
