Alvaro Lopez San Martin has claimed the title of the XVII Internacional Masculino De Tenis Melilla Sport Capital held at the Pistas Municipales de Tenis Alvarez Claro in Melilla, an autonomous city of Spain located in north Africa.
The 25-year-old Spanish top seed of the ITF World Tennis Tour M15 clay-court event defeated second favourite Mirko Martinez from Switzerland 6-2, 7-6(8) in Sunday’s singles final. Lopez San Martin, who dropped only one set on en route to the championship match, struck four aces and won 60 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after two hours and 17 minutes.

The World No. 456 from Barcelona, who captured the 2015 French Open boys’ doubles championship alongside Jaume Munar, lifted his 12th career trophy on the Pro Circuit, his second of the season following his triumph on home soil in Getxo in July.
Lopez San Martin pocketed $2,160 in prize money and collected 15 ATP Ranking points.
