The organizing committee of the ATP Challenger Open Castilla y León Villa El Espinar held the what has become traditional meeting with the media in the conference room of the Press Center of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell on Wednesday.
Tournament director Virginia Ruano presided over the ceremony, accompanied by the founder and president Pedro Munoz; and member of the organizing committee BOBS Conde de Godó, as well as the board of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona-1899, Jordi Montes.
Due to the Olympic Games, the 31st edition of the Open Castilla y León Villa El Espinar, is going to take place earlier than usual, from 23 to 31 July 2016. The ATP Challenger event will be held with a total financial commitment of $75,000 plus Hospitality.
“The winner will not only receive a higher amount of prize money but will also earn 100 ATP ranking points. This increases the interest in the tournament. At the same time, we maintain our efforts to develop and grow the female ITF event, established in 2015,” Virginia told.
