STARNBERG, October 31, 2022
World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, defending champion Novak Djokovic from Serbia and Spaniard Rafael Nadal are among the stars who will compete this week at the Rolex Paris Masters, the final ATP Masters 1000 event of the season.
After a first-round bye, top seed Alcaraz will face the winner of the encounter between Aslan Karatsev of Russia and Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka. Second-seeded Nadal leads the bottom half of the draw and will open his title bid against either his compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut or Tommy Paul from the United States.
In what promises to be a dramatic final week of the regular season, in-form Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andrey Rublev of Russia, US-American Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz from Poland will battle it out for the two remaining Nitto ATP Finals qualification spots. Positions in Turin are also up for grabs in doubles, with some of the world’s leading teams looking to secure qualification in the French capital.
