The ITF has announced the seeds for the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals and Play-offs draws, which take place at the ITF offices in London at 14:00 BST (13:00 GMT) on Wednesday 24 May.
The draws will be livestreamed on the Billie Jean King Cup website, the ITF YouTube channel and across the competition’s social media accounts.
The Finals draw will feature 12 nations, who will be drawn into four groups of three teams. The four group winners will advance to the semi-finals, with the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup final taking place on Sunday 12 November.
The 12 nations competing in the Finals have been placed in three pots. Switzerland, as 2022 champions, and Australia, as 2022 runners-up, are seeded No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. The other two seeds (Spain and France) are based on the current Billie Jean King Cup nations rankings and complete Pot 1. The remaining eight nations have been placed in the other two pots according to their current ranking.
Earlier this month, Seville was announced as the host city for the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals.
The Play-offs draw will feature 16 teams, with eight seeded nations and eight unseeded nations, based on the current Billie Jean King Cup nations rankings. The unseeded nations will be drawn one-by-one against the seeded nations
Play-off ties will take place on a home-and-away basis on either Friday 10-Saturday 11 November or Saturday 11-12 November. Host nations will have choice of which dates to play. Winning nations in the Play-offs will advance to the Qualifiers in 2024, while losing nations will compete in regional Group I events in 2024.

All ties at the Finals consist of three matches: two singles matches followed by a doubles match.

The eight highest-ranked nations, according to the current Billie Jean King Cup nations rankings, are seeded, and the unseeded nations will be drawn one-by-one against the seeded nations.
Each Play-off tie will consist of five matches: two singles matches on the first day, and two singles matches followed by a doubles matches on the second day. Home nations will have the choice of hosting on either Friday 10-Saturday 11 November or Saturday 11-Sunday 12 November.
The winning nations from the 2023 Play-offs will advance to the 2024 Qualifiers, while losing nations will compete in regional Group I events in 2024.
