Spaniard Adrian Menendez-Maceiras drew the curtain on his almost twenty years of career at the Open Ciudad de Pozoblanco on Tuesday evening. The 37-year-old Marbella captured the title of the ATP Challenger Tour hard-court tournament in 2007, which has boosted his professional career.
Menendez-Maceiras received a wild card into this year’s edition and lost in the opening round after a big fight 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6 (2) to 2021 Pozoblanco runner-up Cem Ilkel of Turkey.

On Monday evening, Menendez-Maceiras said goodbye in an emotional ceremony on Center Court attended by his family and the people of Pozoblanco, who have supported him so many times over the many years he has come to the lowlands of Los Pedroches in the province of Córdoba.
The former World No. 105 (career high in March 2019) clinched nine career titles in singles on the ITF Pro Circuit and four career singles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.
