Genaro Alberto Olivieri was crowned champion of the RD Open 2023 held at the Santo Domingo Tennis Club La Bocha. The $160,000 hard-court tournament is the biggest ATP Challenger Tour event in Latin America. Nestled on the captivating Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo stands as a vibrant and historically rich city that seamlessly intertwines the echoes of its colonial past with the rhythms of modern life. As the capital and largest city of the country, Santo Domingo is not only the beating heart of the nation but also a captivating destination that offers a myriad of experiences to its visitors.

Four Argentines reached the semi-finals and two of them pulled double duty Sunday to reach the title match. Seventh-seeded Olivieri backed up a win earlier in the day against his compatriot and top seed Federico Coria with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 win over Marco Trungelliti to clinch the title. No. 8 seed Trungelliti defeated Francisco Comesana, 7-5, 6-3 in the semi-finals. In the showdown on Estadio Mitur, Olivieri struck five aces and won 77 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in two hours and 19 minutes.
