Tomas Machac has clinched the title of the 18th edition of the CO’Met Orleans Open. The 22-year-old Czech defeated eighth-seeded Briton Jack Draper 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 hard-court event held at the Arena Co’Met in Orleans, France.
Machac battled his way to the championship match with wins in the top half of the draw over No. 7 seed Maxime Cressy from the United States, Frenchmen Constant Lestienne and Benjamin Bonzi as well as top seed Richard Gasquet of France.
The World No. 118 broke Draper’s serve four times and outpointed his rival 95-94 after two hours and 21 minutes.

By winning his fifth ATP Challenger Tour career title, his first of the season, Machac earned €19,650 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
Frantzen/Jebens triumph in doubles
Earlier in the day, Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens captured the doubles title. In a final between two unseeded teams, the German duo beat Henry Patten of Great Britaian and Australia’s John-Patrick Smith 7-6(5), 7-6(12) in one hour and 57 mintues.
Frantzen and Jebens collected a tour-leading sixth Challenger title of the season following their triumphs in Biel, Heilbronn, Augsburg, Como and Bad Waltersdorf. They split €8,444 in prize money and pocketed 125 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
