Elias Ymer, Sweden’s best-ranked player, showed a strong and stable game in his meeting against 49th-ranked Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. His straight-sets win means that Ymer is through to the second round of the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, the world’s oldest indoor tournament on the ATP Tour, being held in Stockholm this week.
The home crowd in the Royal Tennis Hall was treated to many nice rallies and a really high-class game during Monday’s last match on Center Court. The first set started evenly as the players were tied until 3-3. In the seventh game, the Swede broke Bautista Agut’s serve to gain a 4-3 lead. The players then held their serve games until 5-4 where Ymer had the opportunity to serve out for the first set. The 27-year-old stood up to the pressure and made no mistake as he closed out the first set with a serve.
The second set offered a quick turn of the match when Bautista Agut got an early break. However, Ymer broke back and was once again in the driver’s seat. The match ended by the score of 6-4, 6-4 after one hour and 26 minutes.

Prizmic upsets Lehecka
Ymer will next take on Croatian teenager Dino Prizmic, who caused the upset of the day by defeating sixth seed Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic 6-3, 7-5 to earn his third tour-level victory.
“I’m very happy about my performance today,” Prizmic said in his on-court interview. “I just want to say thanks to everyone who came here and supported this match because it means a lot to players. Thanks to everyone.”
