“Playing against Ella was tough but I just tried to focus on my game. I am happy that I managed to win because I have already lost many finals. Winning the title means a lot to me,” said Avdeeva, who was born in St. Petersburg, but lives in Germany and practices in Northrhine Westphalia.
“This tournament actually wasn’t on my schedule but obviously I am happy that I played here. It was a crazy week. The atmosphere was amazing. I usually prefer playing on faster courts but I have learnt that I can also be successful on slower surfaces. The organization was very good. I will take a rest now, as I feel my shoulder before going back on the tour for the next tournaments.”
By winning her second ITF World Tennis Tour event, her first at 60K level, Avdeeva earned €8,303 in prize money as well as 80 WTA Ranking points.
