ITF Press Release, January 6, 2024

The 24 nations competing in the 2024 Davis Cup Qualifiers have announced their teams for February’s ties, confirming the players who will compete to secure their country’s place at the 2024 Davis Cup Finals.

Among the 117 players nominated by their nations for February’s home and away ties is Germany’s world No. 7 Alexander Zverev, who will hope for a strong performance ahead of his Olympic gold medal defence at Paris 2024. Other top players set to represent their nations include: Sebastian Baez (Argentina), Alexander Bublik (Kazakhstan), Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina), Taylor Fritz (USA), Tallon Griekspoor (Netherlands), Ugo Humbert (France), Nicolas Jarry (Chile) and Jiri Lehecka (Czechia).

The two losing semi-finalists from the 2023 Davis Cup season will both contest home ties in next month’s Qualifiers, with Serbia hoping to see off Slovakia in Kraljevo and Finland bidding to overcome Portugal in Turku. Ukraine’s clash against USA in Lithuania will take place on Thursday 1-Friday 2 February, with the other 11 Qualifier ties taking place on either Friday 2-Saturday 3 or Saturday 3-Sunday 4 February.

Ties will be played as best-of-five matches, with two singles matches on day one, followed by the doubles match and the two reverse singles matches on day two. All matches are played as best-ofthree tiebreak sets. The 12 winning nations in the Qualifiers will advance to the Davis Cup Finals Group Stage in September, where they will join 2023 champions Italy, 2023 runners-up Australia and wild cards Great Britain and Spain. The Finals Group Stage will be held at four venues, with eight teams progressing to the Davis Cup Final 8 Knockout Stage in Malaga in November.
The 12 losing nations will compete in World Group I ties in September.

A further 24 home-and-away Davis Cup ties are also taking place in February, with 12 ties in the World Group I Play-offs and 12 ties in the World Group II Play-offs (click the links for more information). Team announcements for the World Group I and World Group II Play-offs will be made on Tuesday 23 January.
