Nardi To Face Herbert In Napoli Tennis Cup Final

Luca Nardi and Pierre-Hugues Herbert will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the Napoli Tennis Cup. Nardi, No. 2 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 clay-court event in Naples, Italy, rallied past fellow Italian Francesco Passaro 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the stage of the last four on Saturday.

The World No. 96 capitalized on four of his eight break-point chances and won 53 per cent of the total points played to advance in two hours and 13 minutes.

Herbert also came back from a set down to overcome his French compatriot and fifth favourite Corentin Moutet 4-6, 6-3, 6-1. The No. 8 seed capitalized on all of his four break-point opportunities to prevail after two hours and four minutes.

Nardi is seeking his sixth ATP Challenger career crown, his first of the season. Herbert could also lift his sixth Challenger career trophy, his second of 2024 following his triumph on home soil in Quimper in late January.

Andreozzi/Reyes-Varela take doubles title

In other action, Guido Andreozzi of Argentina and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela from Mexico captured the doubles title. The pair outlasted Frenchman Theo Arribage and Victor Corna of Romania 6-4, 1-6, 10-7 in one hour and 23 minutes.

By winning their first team title, Andreozzi and Reyes-Varela split €8,450 in prize money and earned 125 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
