HOUSTON/STARNBERG, April 7, 2024

For the tenth time in the Open Era – and the fourth time since the ATP Tour tournament moved to River Oaks in 2008 – two US-Americans will play for the singles title at the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship when No. 1 seed Ben Shelton faces No. 3 seed and defending champion Frances Tiafoe on Sunday.

The last all-US final was in 2022 when Reilly Opelka defeated John Isner. Sunday’s winner will be the seventh US-American to claim the title in the last 10 editions. Shelton owns a 1-0 edge in their head-to-head, having defeated Tiafoe in the 2023 US Open quarterfinals. Tiafoe, 26, is looking to be the first repeat US Clay champion since Steve Johnson in 2017-18.Hou
