Yunchaokete Bu has clinched the title of the inaugural Wuxi Open in China. The No. 4 seed of the $82,000 ATP Challenger Tour hard-court event defeated alternate Egor Gerasimov of Belarus 6-4, 6-1 in Sunday’s singles final.
Bu booked his spot in the championship match with wins in the bottom half of the draw over Australian Omar Jasika, Chinese qualifier Linang Xiao, Tung-Lin Wu of Chinese Taipei and Philip Sekulic of Australia.
The World No. 239 from China saved all three break points he faced and broke Gerasimov’s serve four times to seal victory in one hour and 28 minutes.

“I enjoyed the week so much, and thank you all the staff, organizers and Wuxi fans. Wuxi Open is the best ATP Challenger 75 I have ever played,” said Bu.
By winning his second ATP Challenger Tour career title following his maiden triumph in Seoul, South Korea last year, Bu earned $11,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
Puttergill/Stalder triumph in doubles
On Saturday, Calum Puttergill of Australia and US-American Reese Stalder captured the doubles title. The top seeds defeated the all-Japanese combination of Toshihide Matsui and Kaito Uesugi 7-6(8), 7-6(4) in one hour and 53 minutes.
By winning their first Challenger team title, Puttergill and Stalder split a prize purse of $4,665 and collected 75 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
