Four US-Americans have reached the semi-finals of the Cranbrook Tennis Classic in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Stefan Kozlov headlined quarterfinals action by knocking out top seed JJ Wolf from the United States 6-4, 6-4.

The 26-year-old qualifier converted four of his five break-point opportunities and won 53 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 37 minutes.

Kozlov, a winner of five titles on the ATP Challenger Tour, is seeking his first trophy of the season. The Florida resident of Russian descent will next take on Nishesh Basavareddy, who benefited from the retirement of Bernard Tomic. The 19-year-old Newport Beach native was winning the first set 6-4 when the Australian was forced to stop playing due to fatigue.

In the bottom half of the draw, Ryan Seggerman upset No. 4 seed Gijs Brouwer from the Netherlands 6-4, 6-4. The 24-year-old qualifier fired 12 aces and won 91 per cent of his first-service points to succeed in one hour and 11 minutes.

Up next for Seggerman will be wild card entry Learner Tien. The 18-year-old Californian rallied past Philip Sekulic of Australia 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-3. Tien capitalized on all of his three break-point chances to advance to his first Challenger semi-final after two hours and 29 minutes.
