US-American teenager Learner Tien has clinched his maiden title on the ATP Challenger Tour by winning the second edition of the Cranbrook Tennis Classic in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The 18-year-old wild card entry outlasted his 19-year-old compatriot Nishesh Basavareddy 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s singles final.
Tien withstood nine aces and capitalized on all of his three break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 56 minutes.

Following six title wins on the ITF World Tennis Tour titles, Tien lifted his first trophy at Challenger level. The World No. 342 earned $11,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points. The California native became the third youngest champion of the 2024 Challenger season.
The Cranbrook Tennis Classic hard-court event offered a total prize purse of $82,000 and took place at the Cranbrook Tennis Complex in Bloomfield Hills, an affluent suburb of Detroit known for its picturesque landscapes, prestigious schools, and historic estates.
