SAN MARINO/STARNBERG, August 5, 2024
“After two first-round eliminations, I’m here to win the title this year,” said Alexandre Muller after his opening match, and he kept his word. The French player, ranked No. 99 ATP and the third seed, is the winner of the 31st edition of the Internazionali di Tennis San Marino Open, an ATP Challenger 125 tournament held on the clay courts of the Centro Cassa di Risparmio di Montecchio.
In a hard-fought final on Sunday, Muller defeated Chun-Hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(3) in two hours and 46 minutes. Muller struck seven aces and won 69 per cent of his first-service points.

“In our previous meeting in Prague, I lost to Tseng in a third-set tie-break, and this time I narrowly came out on top,” said Muller, who claimed his third ATP Challenger career title. “Thanks to the crowd for creating a special atmosphere and to my coach for his support this week. I truly enjoyed my time in San Marino, with impeccable services from every perspective. I’ll be back next year.”
Muller pocketed €20,300 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
Tseng remains with five Challenger titles in his collection. As a junior in 2018, he won Roland Garros and Wimbledon and reached the finals of the Australian Open and US Open, becoming the Junior World No. 1.
