Majchrzak Triumphs At Ferrero Challenger In Villena

Kamil Majchrzak has clinched the title of the Alicante Ferrero Challenger – Villena Open. The No. 6 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 hard-court event beat fifth favourite Nicolas Moreno de Alboran from the United States 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.

Majchrzak battled his way to the championship match with wins over Mile Poljciak of Croatia, Czech qualifier Jiri Vesely, top-seeded Croatian Duje Ajdukovic and home favourite Martin Landaluce.

In the title match on Pista Carlos Alcaraz, the 28-year-old from Poland struck five aces, saved all three break points he faced and capitalized on three of his own four break-point opportunities to secure victory in one hour and 16 minutes.

By winning his seventh ATP Challenger Tour career title, his third of the season following his triumphs at the Rwanda Challenger in Kigali, as well as in Bratislava, Slovakia, Majchrzak earned € 16,550 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.

The seventh edition of the Alicante Ferrero Challenger was hosted by the Ferrero Tennis Academy, located in Villena, Spain. It is one of the premier tennis training centers in Europe.
