Punta Del Este Open Quarterfinals Line-Up Completed

Tomas Barrios Vera, No. 7 seed of the Punta del Este Open has reached the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger Tour event by defeating Dutchman Max Houkes 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday. Barrios Vera, who was ranked 93rd in the world in January 2024 and is currently World No. 152, will face Argentine qualifier Lautaro Midon this Friday.

Spain’s Carlos Taberner overcame France’s Gabriel Debru 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 in a two-hour and 37-minute match. On Friday, Taberner, ranked 196th in the world, will face fifth seed Marco Trungelliti, who defeated Juan Bautista Torres 7-6(5), 7-5.

Top seed and world No. 96 Federico Coria will play his quarterfinal match on Friday against US-American Emilio Nava. The battle for a semifinal spot at the Punta del Este Open is scheduled for no earlier than 7:00 PM local time on Center Court at the Cantegril Country Club.

The last remaining Uruguayan in the competition, Ignacio Carou, competed in doubles alongside Bolivian Hugo Dellien but was defeated by the Peruvian duo of brothers Conner and Arklon Huertas del Pino, 6-4, 6-2.
