Sabalenka, last year’s WTA Player of the Year, began her 2025 season by winning an Australian Open tune-up title in Brisbane, then reached the final of the year’s first major in Melbourne. “The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is one of my favorite tournaments,” she said. “The Stuttgart crowd always produces a fantastic atmosphere. It motives us players even more to display our best tennis.”
As for Paolini, she was one of the most improved players on the WTA Tour in 2024. The Italian won a WTA 1000 title in Dubai and was runner-up at both the French Open and Wimbledon. Together with Sara Errani, she also won a gold medal in doubles at the Paris Olympic Games.
“I played Stuttgart for the first time last year and immediately felt at home,” Paolini said. “I’m looking forward to enjoying the tournament’s special atmosphere once again.”
