Maginley & Perez Claim Morelos Open Doubles Title

CUERNAVA/STARNBERG, April 6, 2025

The doubles champions of the 2025 Morelos Open presentado por Metaxchange, an ATP Challenger Tour 75 hard-court tournament being played at the Hotel Racquet Cuernavaca, are Jody Maginley of Antigua and US-American Alfredo Perez.

In Saturday’s final at the Metaxchange Stadium, Maginley and Perez defeated Finn Reynolds and James Watt of New Zealand in one hour and 30 minutes 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-8.

“It’s nice that I can put Antigua on the map with a Challenger title,” said Maginley after the match. By lifting the 2025 Morelos Open trophy, Maginley and Perez secured their first ATP Challenger team title. They split $4,980 in prize money and collected 75 ATP Doubles Ranking points.

Perez had previously won one ATP Challenger doubles title at 2023 Salinas with Vasil Kirkov). Meanwhile, Maginley claimed his maiden doubles title in Mexico.
