Nicolas Mejia capped off a perfect week by capturing the title at the Savannah Challenger, the final leg of the clay-court swing in the United States. The Colombian rallied from a set down to defeat Canadian Liam Draxl 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(3) in Sunday’s final, earning the second ATP Challenger Tour title of his career.

Draxl, ranked No. 156 in the world and seeded fourth, started strongly. He secured an early break and added another to comfortably take the opening set 6-2.

However, Mejia responded impressively in the second set. The 25-year-old found his rhythm, broke Draxl twice, and leveled the match with a dominant 6-2 set win.

The deciding set saw a fierce battle, with both players trading breaks early on. Despite multiple break opportunities, neither could pull ahead until the tie-break. Mejia seized the initiative at the crucial moment, playing a flawless tie-break to seal the victory 7-6(3).

After a marathon battle lasting three hours and 36 minutes, Mejia secured his second ATP Challenger crown, adding to his 2024 triumph in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He collected $14,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
