Federico Cina continued his impressive run at the Guerri Napoli Tennis Cup, the ATP Challenger 125 event organized by Master Group Sport in collaboration with the Tennis Club Napoli, by securing a place in the quarterfinals. On the Court “Carlo D’Avalos,” the 18-year-old Italian talent defeated fellow countryman Francesco Forti 6–3, 6–3 in the second round. Forti had entered the main draw through qualifying and had stunned second seed Vit Kopriva in the opening round.

Cina will now face Ukraine’s Vitaliy Sachko, who came from behind to defeat Italy’s sixth seed Andrea Pellegrino 4–6, 6–3, 6–4 in a match lasting two hours and 12 minutes.

Another Italian rising star, 20-year-old Federico Bondioli from Ravenna, also advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating India’s Sumit Nagal, who had been ranked as high as No. 68 in the world in 2024. It marks the second time in Bondioli’s career that he has reached the quarterfinal stage of a Challenger event.

He will next face fellow Italian Michele Ribecai, a 23-year-old from Lucca, who delivered a strong comeback win over France’s Matteo Martineau fresh off his first-round victory against Stan Wawrinka – by a score of 2–6, 6–4, 6–2 in two hours and 15 minutes. Ribecai will appear in the quarterfinal of a Challenger event for the first time.
