MONZA/STARNBERG, April 5, 2026
The countdown is nearly over. Before the title favorites of the 2026 Atkinsons Monza Open take to the courts from Monday, Easter Sunday will kick off the action of the ATP Challenger 125 event at Villa Reale Tennis with the qualifying.
Matches begin at 10 a.m. local time, with the first of two rounds that will decide the final six spots in the main draw. The highest-seeded player in qualifying is sixth seed Federico Bondioli, the left-hander from Ravenna who recently reached the semifinals of the ATP Challenger 125 in Naples. He opens against Kazakhstan’s Denis Yevseyev.
The main draw has already been released and is once again headed by defending champion Raphael Collignon of Belgium, currently ranked No. 65 in the world. Returning to Monza in search of back-to-back titles, Collignon will begin his campaign against Australia’s Christopher O’Connell.
Also in the draw are two more players ranked inside the world’s Top 75. Frenchman Valentin Royer will face Italy’s Luca Nardi, who received a wild card for his first tournament under new coach Renzo Furlan. Lombardy native Mattia Bellucci chose Monza over the qualifying event for the Monte-Carlo Masters and has been handed a difficult opener against Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic, a former finalist in Monte-Carlo.
Another of the tournament’s most anticipated names is Spain’s Martin Landaluce, who recently reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open and arrived in Monza after several days of training in Murcia alongside world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz. Landaluce will face a qualifier in the opening round.
Home favourites Marco Cecchinato and Raul Brancaccio will also take on qualifiers, while Stefano Travaglia, local wild card Pietro Fellin and Gianluca Cadenasso have all drawn seeded opponents. Travaglia meets Lithuania’s Vilius Gaubas, Fellin faces Croatia’s Dino Prizmic, and Cadenasso, fresh from winning the first ATP Challenger title of his career at the Paraguy Open in Asuncion, takes on Frenchman Hugo Gaston.
The list of Italian players is completed by Michele Ribecai, who will arrive in Monza after playing the Barletta Challenger final on Sunday. He is set to face Britain’s Billy Harris.

Beyond the tennis, the new Fan Village in the Boschetti Reali will be open throughout the tournament. Free to access from morning until evening, the area connects the club with the city center and offers music, sporting activities, quality food options and entertainment for all ages.
Visitors can enjoy pickleball and table tennis, meet-and-greet sessions with tournament stars, wellness activities and partner stands, creating a festival atmosphere around the tournament grounds.
Admission to the courts at Villa Reale Tennis is free from Sunday, April 5 through Friday, April 10. Tickets are required only for the final weekend, on April 11 and 12.
The Atkinsons Monza Open 26 is part of the ATP Challenger 125 category, which offers total prize money of €203,900. The singles main draw features 32 players, with 24 competing in qualifying for the final six places. A 16-team doubles draw will also be held.
