Hugo Dellien was crowned champion of the Bolivia Open and became the first home favourite to clinch the title in the history of the ATP Challenger clay-court tournament. In Sunday’s singles final between the two top seeds, Dellien defeated his compatriot and second favourite Juan Carlos Prado Angelo 6-4, 7-5.
Dellien advanced to the championship match with wins in the top half of the draw only over player from Argentina. He beat qualifier Maxime Zeitune, Juan Estevez, fifth-seeded Santiago Rodriguez Taverna and Valerio Aboian en route to the final.
The 32-year-old Trinidad native broke Prado Angelo’s serve four times and won 55 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in two hours and six minutes.

Dellien lifted his 15th ATP Challenger Tour career trophy, his first of the season and first on home soil. The world No. earned $17,000 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
The fifth edition of the Bolivia Open offered a total prize pool of $107,000 and was hosted by the Club de Tenis Santa Cruz.
