Romanian qualifier Cezar Cretu continued his excellent run of form this week at the Moldova Open by reaching his first singles final on the ATP Challenger Tour. On a rain-interrupted Saturday at the National Tennis Center in Chisinau, the world No. 370 knocked off local wild card entry Radu Albot 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
Cretu sent down three aces and won 70 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in two hours and 22 minutes.

The 25-year-old from Iasi, situated only 150 kilometres away from Chisinau, is a 12-time champion on the ITF World Tennis Tour and is seeking his maiden Challenger triumph on Sunday against Stefanos Sakellaridis.
The 21-year-old Greek defeated Genaro Alberto Olivieri of Argentina 6-3, 6-4. Sakellaridis hit 24 winners and broke his rival three times to prevail after one hour and 49 minutes.
Sakellaridis won the only previous meeting between the two at an ITF World Tennis Tour M15 event in Antalya, Turkey five years ago.
Goldhoff/Wineger triumph in doubles
In other action, George Goldhoff and Theodore Winegar captured the doubles title. The No. 2 seeds emerged victorious from the all-US-American final, winning 6-1, 6-4 against Nathanial Lammons and Jackson Withrow. The encounter lasted 62 minutes.
Goldoff and Winegar claimed their second team title in as many weeks after the ATP Challenger in Istanbul seven days ago. They split €7,220 in prize money and earned 100 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
